Beth Nutbrown
Beth is a PhD student at The University of Sheffield researching video game communities.
She lives in Sheffield with her two labradors, Zelda and Ruby.
After graduating from The University of Warwick with a BA in History, and from Manchester Metropolitan University with an MSc in Psychology, Beth decided that she needed to follow her passion. This led her to start her PhD, researching video game communities, specifically the community surrounding the MOBA game, League of Legends.

Beth also enjoys teaching in Sociological Studies at The University of Sheffield, as well as working as a research assistant on the MakEY Project (Department of Education, The University of Sheffield).
She has just been elected as the Secretary for the Video Gaming society at Sheffield University, and is looking forward to creating and promoting social and competitive opportunities for gamers within the University with the rest of the society committee.
Beth is also a keen amateur cosplayer, having previously attended conventions as Sally Jupiter [Watchmen], Nurse Joy [Pokémon], Lady Rainicorn [Adventure Time], Dino Gnar [League of Legends], and Dragon Trainer Tristana [League of Legends]. Her current WIP is Winter Wonderland Lulu [League of Legends]. You can see more of Beth's costume work here.
In her free time Beth enjoys playing video games, cuddles her with dogs, playing ukulele, eSports, anything Disney, making costumes, cooking, Adventure Time, dying her hair, watching horror movies drinking tea.
